Job Role

An innovative and ambitious Chief Technology Officer is required to provide leadership for the newly acquired software division of this insurance product provider offering a new, unique and agile suite of insurance products. Leading geographically diverse teams of developers you will have a keen eye for a successful product and the ability to build and organise teams capable of delivering your vision.  Working closely with internal stakeholders and external clients you will drive thought leadership, innovation and creativity in all areas of the IT platforms, infrastructure, operations, security and Devops establishing overall technology standards and practices for your team and the wider business. You’ll work collaboratively to create a roadmap for technology features providing a clear vision whilst building a scaleable and future proof technology department.  You’ll also support the commercial area of the business helping to build pitches and proposing new solutions.

Requirements & Experience

  • You will be an experienced technical leader comfortable with a wide range of technolgies, the tech stack is diverse encompassing cloud technology (AWS/Azure), development in Python, .net, Java and C# along with web/cloud native technologies and databases such as MySQL, NoSQL, MongoDB etc
  • Demonstrated success in building and shaping an engineering function or business unit
  • Experienced in operating large scaling applications and distributed systems across multiple languages and platforms
  • Ability to contribute to system design, architecture and deeper technical discussion where needed
  • Comfortable collaborating with counterparts at external businesses
